Toyota has announced that there will be a Trailhunter model as part of the 2024 Tacoma lineup. As usual it was a sort announcement but they gave us a nice teaser photo showing bits of the back of the truck.

The Trailhunter will have "purpose built" components for overlanding and off-roading.

PLANO, Texas (April 11, 2023) – Developed from the ground up for those seeking extended adventures, Tacoma Trailhunter will build upon Toyota’s legendary off-road and overlanding credibility with purpose-built engineering and robust components. Stay tuned for more.

Toyota shared another teaser photo of the Tacoma Trailhunter on Instagram. This one is a closeup of the headlight.

I was surprised by the factory installed ARB bumper, which is a nice upgrade.

The pic of the front looks really nice to me.

This reveal is turning into a slow motion strip tease.

I know very little about overlanding.... had to look ARB up.

Looks legit. Link for those who want to learn like me Front & Rear Bumpers | Sliders & Steps | UVP
ARB is more than legit, they are the standard for quality off road chassis upgrades, and not just bumpers. You don't have to overland to want to upgrade the excellent start Toyota gives you in a stock Taco chassis.

Two of the first things I would do with a new Taco would be to upgrade the shocks and bumpers. Easy upgrades, which would move a Taco's off road prowess way up the food chain. Toyota made the same choices I would have made and they will do the installation for me. Got to love that!

I'll be curious how they differentiate the Trailhunter from the TRD Pro

I haven't really done a lot of overlanding but even I'd want a bumper like that on my truck. going through their website ARB has some good looking roof racks as well.
