My plan is to scoop a demo from one of the local dealers. But I heard from other guys that dealers do have waiting lists already going. Since at this stage it's likely all dealer-level and nothing in Toyota's actual books, I think any dealer should be able to put you on a list.

Hey all, curious to hear if anyone's talked to a dealer and managed to get on a waitlist.
I called my local but the sales rep said they weren't ready to accept deposits or make any promises beyond calling me back when they had some concrete info on allocation.
Fingers crossed some of you have had better luck.

I'm a little surprised they wouldn't put you on a waitlist, but not shocked that they're trying to avoid over-committing.

It looks like it depends on the dealer. Mine is accepting deposits to be added on to a waitlist. Are there other dealerships in your area that you could ask?

I was trying to be loyal to the place we got our RAV4 from because they've been good to deal with, but I'm too amped to wait if I can avoid it!
