Will you be getting a four-door double cab or a two XtraCab Tacoma? I'm glad that Toyota is giving us the choice and not just making the Tacoma a standard four-door truck.

I'm leaning towards the four door but that could change depending on the space in the XtraCab.

Vote in the poll and let's see what everyone is thinking.

I voted 4-door. The 2-door is so cool, but I've got kids to haul.

Same for me. If I were still in my 20s (or maybe once the kids move out) I'd go XtraCab for sure. The good thing about the Double Cab is that even if it's tight for adults, it works fine for small kids and pre-teens, which is what I'm going to have for the time I expect to own this truck.
It's going to be the four-door.

Will need the space to haul around friends, family, cargo I want in the cabin, etc.
Another reluctant 4 door voter here, but I love the access cab for its great handling and agility. They are more fun on the street and more able offroad. The 4th gen version looks really, really nice and it is amazing that we can still get one at all. Another outstanding Taco feature, just like a real MT.

I had a 2005 Sport access cab and I really loved it. I may not buy an access cab but I am super happy Toyota is making one. It proves that they really do get it with the Tacoma, what a great truck it has been for all kinds of uses for many years for many people.

Now a new gen comes along and it is improved in every imaginable way - and that is in reality not just marketing bs. lol

I think the new Taco sets a new standard in trucks of all sizes. There isn't a wrong pick in the litter. Amazing.
Starting to feel guilty that none of us are getting the XtraCab. Small sample size and all that but I'm hoping the sales are a little more balanced, I'm really excited to see these in person.
My 2005 Taco was an access cab and I liked it. I think it was smart to delete the rear doors, which were a pain to use and the seats were terrible so that space was just for cargo. You would only put someone you hated back there anyway. lol

It will be interesting to see down the line what the split is between the XtraCab and the Crew Cab. It could lead to some deals on the XtraCabs if it's lopsided.
I think that the Crew Cab will outsell the XtraCab many times over, but I also expect Toyota to build fewer of them. That is pretty much the situation with the current manual transmission Taco, which is almost impossible to find.
I'm going XtraCab 2 door, it's exactly what I need.

I think that is what a lot of people really need and it will be more popular than the access cab was.

Toyota will adjust production to demand and hopefully everyone can get the model that they want. From what I can tell there is not a bad truck in the entire lineup. The lower trims are very well equipped trucks to start and are a great value.
I vote for the 2 door. I am retired and daughter grown and married...so...
1.I need a 6 ft bed
2. Don't want to spend too much $$
3. Really would not want to drive a double cab long bed around parking lots.
4. The two door reminds me of my younger days!:)

Welcome to the forum @Yardtruck Plus! Nice to see someone wanting the XtraCab. What kinds of stuff do you need the 6 foot bed for?

Welcome to the forum @guystrongphotography! Are you going to get the 5 foot bed or 6 foot bed on your Tacoma?

Wifey and I do lots of gardening and yard work. You can haul branches etc in a short bed. But more length is better.
Also makes hauling mulch and garden soil i easier.
Their chief engineer has repeatedly said they saw value as key for their two doors…
My old eyes need LED headlights for driving, and GM bundles them with the highest price packages. ($41-43k.) And it is now clear their 2.7 turbo is one thirsty engine.
The all important LED’s? Pre-runner has them standard. (That value thing.) I also need height adjustment on driver’s seat. Again, standard.
Anyway, I’am hoping for $35-
$37 k. for pre runner.

2 door 6 foot bed all the way, I'm usually by myself or with one other passenger. The cargo storage in the back is everything i wish i had back when i had an access cab. Basically this is the vehicle I've been asking someone to make for the last 5 years. Full size trucks are just too big these days for what I need.
