Hey guys, have any of you purchased any after market mud flaps for 24-25? I've heard that there is a real issue with chipping near the fender flair / wheel well areas, and that OEM mud flaps dont exactly do the job.

I was checking out the Rokblokz and GRK flaps, they are a bit pricey but looks like they will do the trick.

Yep - it is very strange that the same trucks were fitted with good quality mud flaps in Canada and totally inadequate ones in the US. I fixed that by buying the Canadian ones, which fit perfectly, look good and get the job done. Even better they are much more affordable than some of the aftermarket options. I wish I had known so that I would not have wasted the $60 I spent for the OEM ones.

I swapped my OEM U.S. Mud Flaps for the Canadian Mud Flaps and am much happier! They are OEM Toyota Mud Flaps, so no telling why Toyota has two different Mud Flaps for U.S, and Canadian Tacomas, aren't they both manufactured in the same plant?

The U.S. spec are on the left, the Canadian are on the right. Top are the front flaps, bottom are the rear. Huge difference in the coverage area!

This is the Model Number for the Canadian Mud Flaps.

I recently installed the Canadian Mud Flaps on my SR5 and noticed the front mud flap has a hooked tang that extends beyond the body line. I'm not sure if this is part of the design for other Gen4 applications that might have fender flares, or just a common protrusion on all Gen4 Tacoma's.

I am tempted to trim it flush.

I think they are definitely good enough. I put the Canadian flaps on my Pro and they provide good coverage for the tires. My truck has a lot of poke and they are doing the job, so they should work well on a Sport.

You could post some pictures which would give us a better idea of the coverage your flaps provide. I also have found that steps or rock sliders add a lot of protection for the sides of our trucks, which are real chip magnets.

That is odd, mine don't have that tab either. Maybe they changed the design. Here's a picture I took of the Canadian Flaps next to the US Flaps to show the difference. The front mud flaps are on top, the US mud flaps are on the left.

When I got my Canadian mud flaps, there were two different part numbers, but I don't know what the difference is between them. I got the set everyone else was getting and recommending since I didn't know the difference. Thinking back, it seems one was slightly smaller than the other and I got the larger size, but my recollection could be wrong. I have the Limited and it does have the fender flares. After looking at how mine fit, It's pretty easy to tell that little tab actually slips in between the fender flare and the inner wheel well liner. Maybe the other part number was for the models with the fender flares and I got the wrong pair! They still work great, so no going back at this point!

This is what I ordered and received. Looking like I purchased flaps for fender flared configuration. Doh!

It is 35R50 that I should have ordered. Oh well, its an easy fix. The tab sticking out is solid and soft enough to carefully nip off. Time to get the hoof trimmers out and go to work.
